Benyamini Contemporary Ceramics Center

About
he aim of the Issachar and Yehudit Benyamini Contemporary Ceramics Center is to promote ceramic art and design in a vibrant atmosphere of creativity for professional artists as well as the general public. Through the on-going activities we wish to create a dialogue between the various aspects of ceramics and extend its scope in the broad spectrum of material culture.

The Issachar and Yehudit Benyamini Center for Contemporary Ceramics is a public non-profit organization founded in 2001 by the trustees Ilan Meyer and Marcelle Klein as set out in the will of Yehudit Benyamini. The center expresses Yehudit and Issachar’s love of ceramic art and we intend to foster the vibrant atmosphere of the Benyamini home – a place of work and creativity, a meeting place of young and old, a place of cultural debate that promotes interdisciplinary dialogue and a place which nurtures learning and contribution to the community.

The generous donation made by Yehudit and Issachar expresses their love of people, ceramics, and the arts. This donation enables us to support numerous programs including gallery exhibitions, workshops, visiting artists program, the First Studio program and various community activities.

The Benyamini center is committed to promoting ceramic art on all levels including art, design and the craft of this very ancient and diverse material. To meet this goal our center will have a fully equipped ceramic studio with a comprehensive program of ceramic workshops, lessons, lectures and master classes geared towards professional ceramic artists, amateurs, who are at the beginning of their interest in clay, as well as the general public.

The Benyamini center is located in an area developing into the next hub of the vibrant art scene in Tel Aviv and will have two gallery spaces. The Center’s mission is to showcase the best work done in this field as well as expose young artists. Combining studios and galleries within a single location, the Benyamini center aims at enhancing ceramic art activities on a national level in Israel as well as developing international ties with the ceramic community abroad.

The Issachar and Yehudit Benyamini Center is proud to be the first contemporary ceramic art center in Israel.
