On Saturday, January 1, 2015, the GH Gallery Givat Haviva for Art will open, a couple's exhibition born of discourse and inspiration from the world of dance between two artists who met and communicated in the network space. The Fargo Foundation is an Israeli artist who embroiders and writes in black ink on a background of pages from old books from the worlds of Hebrew poetry, the world of plants, and geographical maps; Ashken Ra'ai is an Iranian photographer who left Iran via Turkey and settled in Houston, Texas, USA, and photographs dance and dancers in meticulous studio photography.
Fargo, a former dancer who follows dance photographers on Instagram, discovered Roai's photographs, began drawing from them and as a result they began to follow each other; A rabbi who was moved by the fact that an Israeli artist paints his photographs against the background of texts written in Hebrew, told Keren that he is Iranian. The mutual inspiration and great love for the world of dance as well as the fact that they both incorporate several forms of art in their work, contributed to the development of the connection, creation and mutual influence that grew stronger over two years of global corona crisis.
The exhibition 'Peace Dance' now presents simultaneously in Houston, the USA and in Israel, with a certain collection exhibiting in both, but most of the works are divided between here and there; two exhibitions building together a joint exhibition displayed simultaneously on two different continents.
The exhibition seeks to open boundaries that exist between people, countries, cultures, thoughts and feelings, and to let the dance world lead us into the sequence of possibilities between oneness and separateness, similarity and difference, war and peace, based on respect and mutual fertilization.
In the exhibition spaces, an enclave of 'safe space' is created between two seemingly enemy countries, which can in this way stand side by side and sometimes within each other, in a harmonious way.
Peace Dance, in English DANCE PEACE asks you - Dance Peace.
