The corona plague hit our lives (in Israel) in February 2020. Since then, our lives have undergone various and strange changes and adjustments. His daily routine was violated in the morning news and concepts entered into it that we never thought would become an integral part of our lives such as: closures, isolations, wearing masks, working from home and limiting gatherings.
Activities that we took for granted, such as meeting with friends in a cafe, going to the theater and holiday meals in the bosom of the extended family, have become the object of unattainable passion.
The restrictions placed on us in the wake of the plague clouded our lives, but also made us appreciate things we always took for granted. The plague made us recognize the fragility of our lives, but also emphasize the importance of every moment in them, every human touch and gave us a reassessment of the familiar and the safe.
How did humanity deal with the corona ?!
We will only know this in a few years, after the dust has settled on this experience we are all going through, and conclusions will be drawn that will be summarized and entered into the history books.
But how did the naive artists deal with the corona ?!
This question will be answered by the exhibition "Naivety in the Days of Corona" which will open at the Gina Gallery on November 18, even if in a partial and modest way, in the exhibition the artists will highlight the positive and beautiful, as one of the essential characteristics of the genre.
Naive art often transcends the daily difficulties and conflicts we face throughout our lives. The genre celebrates the simple, idyllic life in the eyes of living artists that they remember from their childhood or imagine and wish we had. This nostalgic perception is super-temporal and is often unaffected by transient processes and events.

In the exhibition "Naivety in the Days of Corona", visitors to the Gina Gallery will be able to see, on the one hand, works created under the above concept. .

In contrast, the exhibition will feature naive works that relate in one way or another to the artist's experience of the plague period. The way in which artists relate to this challenging period is sometimes clear, direct and understandable, and sometimes expressed only implicitly or as an expression of a very personal experience of the artists whose only explanation we can get to the bottom of their minds and understand the context of Corona.
We invite you to be impressed and enjoy the time capsules that the naive artists created especially for this exhibition, time capsules that will go down in the pages of history.
The exhibition will run until the beginning of February.

Gina Gallery in the old north of Tel Aviv is the only gallery in the world that specializes in international naive art. In the gallery you can find works by over 200 artists, from 37 different countries.
