The "exposed" solo exhibition by the artist Meirav Salman, which will open on August 12 for only three days, was born after much deliberation by the artist. As a self-taught artist who was not trained at any art institution, she had a lot of concerns and from there the name of the exhibition was born - "Bare". Although she has been painting for five years, Salman feels like a tourist in the art world. She knows how to create art but does not know how to play the game. Concerns about the reactions of the art world have so far prevented her from exposing her art to a solo exhibition.

Says Salman: "I did not grow up with the brush in hand, I did not go to painting classes, I did not do a degree in art and I do not have much knowledge in all the professional concepts of this magical world, the world of color and imagination. I am also not sure my works are logical or symmetrical. That, when I take the white canvas, the clean heart beats with excitement and I wonder to myself, I wonder what will be, how it will come out, what brushes to take, with what shades to work, I'm never sure what it will look like there are works that started in such a different direction than ended I am surprised by the result. "

About five years ago when she was 45 she started painting and since then she has not stopped. Scribble has always been a part of her life mostly in favor of concentration and focus which has always been a challenge for her, scribble helped her understand what was going on around her but never really dared to paint. When silence became part of her life following her children who grew up and needed it less, there was room for an old passion - the painting "On the table was a pencil, as if he called me and said he was here. After staring at it for long minutes, I got up, brought paper and painted. "A world of color and imagination," says Meirav.

The works on display in the exhibition deal mainly with the subject of femininity and in all of them the woman is presented as a strong, powerful, groundbreaking and self-confident woman. It is evident that her works come from worlds of emotion and a lot of imagination and are full of color and convey optimism and joy. Her art is spontaneous, independent and above all a means of combining her inner and outer world. Sometimes the woman's face in her paintings is visible and sometimes hidden by a hat or hair or turning her back on the world but not out of alienation but for fear of being exposed and revealed just like Salman herself. Like the African woman and sometimes she chooses to focus on one limb of the woman's body to convey the main message of the painting. Her style tends to be pop art characterized by intense color and soft and sharp color strokes. Her observation of the environment is through color, and through color she explains the world to herself. Among Salman's paintings can be found a large collection of portraits of women in oil on canvas or in mixed media. What is special about them is the fact that these are anonymous women, the women that Salman describes are simple everyday women and when they are naked they are full of expression, so they look directly at the artist who paints them and tell a story.

In this exhibition, Salman seeks to expose her art and herself without fear and especially to stop apologizing.
