"In order for the light to shine so brightly, darkness must be present" - Francis Bacon.
Aliza Shinzon, a multidisciplinary designer, began her career at Bezalel and designed diverse projects in Israel and abroad. She realizes her love of light as a three-dimensional tool in every project in interior design and visual design.
Turning to the design of exceptional light fixtures starting in 2014. Her passion and love for light is part of her design thinking. The first light fixture she designed in 2014 when she moved to her new studio was designed and created out of a need to illuminate a table that served as a sculpture in the center of the studio and since then everything is history. In addition to the love of material matter comes the philosophical connection to the spiritual quality of light in Aliza. After all, light carries the ambiguity attributed to it also at the plan level. It functions in the work both as a real earthly material that is perceived sensually and as a vanishing, sublime essence that discovers things and gives them meaning.
"Light is the same spark of joy, happiness, love and the unchanging state of inner peace that evokes and challenges a world and its fullness within me." In my work I try to bring out colors and shadow using the depths and folds of the shadow into an invisible or structured perspective and capture light while "cheerful" Shinzon.
Through her designs, Aliza seeks to create a prism for observing the phenomenon of light and understanding the way in which light functions as a material and as an image that carries a changing meaning in the vision around us.
The light manifestations that her works create represent the symbolic light and the physical light that is perceived in sensory absorption and mediates the essence of the transition between them and the story that the viewer tells himself through looking at her work. Observing works enhances the experience of God temporarily and the materiality of light that gives her works a magical and mystical touch.
In her current exhibition, Aliza Shinzon presents two collections of "Dance of Light" and "Living Nature".
The 3D "Dance of Light" collection, specially designed for this exhibition, features lighting fixtures that look like amorphous receptacles that distribute artistic lighting, pleasant light that ranges from visible to obscure , from matte to glossy, between opaque and transparent, and between static and full of movement. "In my work I froze fabric in motion when in the folds of the fabric I wanted to bring a glow, and a beauty that is not obvious" Aliza Shinzon.
The light fixtures are made of fabric, polymers and delicate metal frames. The "Teva Chai" collection is a product of Aliza Shinzon's love for nature and the sea.
The light sculptures are made of polymer castings, Plexiglas and dry vegetation and stones collected by it for the purpose of extracting them from complete anonymity and glorifying them by light projected through them.
