I create collages that create themselves.

I started my artistic career by writing stories and poems. Whenever I challenged myself to write a short one-line story. Then I went to work personally in the Art-Jornling journals, where I created personal "travel logs" using various techniques. Again and again I found myself returning to the work in collage technique. Pasting pieces of paper corresponded to the feeling of life itself. They involve connecting and fusing different pieces to create something new. With time, I felt that the personal diary, which allowed me to begin the work, limited me. I pasted pages to enlarge the format and when that was not enough, I set out and started creating outside the diary. The works continued to grow, changing as they worked, making room for characters and symbols that joined each other in assembling imaginative stories rich in symbols, like dream-stories, written without words.

I do not plan the collage in advance, it's impossible. My work is intuitive. Many times, while working, I feel that I have reached a dead end. Although the different pieces of paper are affixed to the same paper, there is no connection between them. Sometimes I feel this way during the initial search for an image that will begin the journey; And other times when searching for additional images to join him. Pieces of paper, then joining each other, begin a journey of their own on the white paper, in search of meaning.

I often feel that something is missing in the nascent collage. Then the search for that "something" begins to fill the gap. Sometimes I was surprised by the feeling that I had to insert a crocodile, or rather, that the collage had to be a crocodile, or some other animal, without understanding why. Not only do I not understand why, but it seems exaggerated and really unrelated. I do not argue with such feelings. I learned that everything has a reason, even if I do not see or understand it. In this way, animals and human figures (mostly female characters) join together to create a similarity between man and nature, between the stranger, the "other" and what feels familiar and domestic. Using the works of great artists from the past, using the Readymade method, allows me to cherish the artists of the past and, on the other hand, to create a connection between the past and the present, while the "dream stories" connect the work to the thought, the feeling and the future.
After the collage is ready I begin the search for meaning. The meaning of the symbols that were "pushed" into the work and the consciousness and the significance of the story about me. With the understanding came surprise and admiration, why the crocodile, owl or flower came into a collage and what they came to tell me.

"On the face of it, papers and colors are the building blocks of the collage, but in practice it is slowly" built "from the inner stones of the self, to which I add layers of color, Dust "from the soul and enables the exposure of the" self. "It is hidden beneath the layers of life and everyday reality.
The intuitive work on the collages allows me to connect to the personal and collective subconscious. Understanding that the symbols and symbols that are integrated into them are of universal significance and speak to everyone, has made me understand the need to expose the works to the public. Each one can find personal stories of their own.
Looking at my work from different distances, at different times of the day and with changing lighting, makes it possible to discover other things at a time. Each collage contains, as potential, many different stories, like the number of viewers; And more importantly, the number of times you look at it. Every observation reveals something new and the story changes. Translated using Google translate.
