Ani b'toch Ani / Shuki Kook studio

Ani b'toch Ani Curator :Shuki Kook Ruchama 11, Mitham Noga Tel Aviv Opening :3.3.2016 20:00 Synopsis Ani is an inner self-portrait. She is a surreal character, an essential being that comes from the world of dreams and imagination. Ani is small and skinny like a child, but possesses the strength to reach the infinite, to push the limits and to face her fears. Her strength comes from the red sphere, which is the ultimate goal and the starting point of every one of her wishes. Ani lives in the instant ? suspended between past and future, and she is in all of us. Creative Concept The art work I am presenting is a collection of surreal self-portraits that I have titled: "Ani b'toch Ani" ? "Me inside of me". Each painting is a scene that takes place in reality or in the symbolic world. All of the surroundings consist of pure and abstract elements. I consider my paintings as an infinite sequence of scenes without any specific order. This work expresses my feelings and personal emotions. That is why I like to consider Ani ? the lead character ? as an essential being inside of me who maintains a strict relationship with a red sphere. The red sphere could represent a source of energy, strength, power, or more simply Ani's emotional life? Ani is a character who could be a combination of a Japanese manga comic character and a real being. I regard the shape of her skeleton as a symbol of her essentiality and spirituality. She needs nothing more than her red sphere... closing: 24.4.2016 Visiting Hours Sun-Thu 10:00-17:00 The Artist on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/manuela.procaccia The Gallery Web: http://www.kook.co.il/ Artistic Technique My art is based on a new way of painting: oil on iPad. I paint with my fingers using an App that provides me with a canvas, oil paints and brushes. It may be printed on digital paper or canvas or projected onto walls or viewing screens. The colors I use are red, blue, white and grey with a touch of tan. The powerful active (red) element and the sensitive receptive (blue) element are engaged in a continuous dialogue. The white, tan and grey strokes express the concreteness of Ani's body. They portray flesh and bones. Biography I Made Aliya three years ago, and embarked on my artist's journey in Tel-Aviv, using digital painting on IPad. My first exhibition, Ani b'toch Ani, is inspired by my personal journey of attempting to get pregnant through IVF. For the past 15 years, I have used my creativity, skills & ideas in many aspects of TV and film production and content development. I served as format development and TV content writer at Digicast, Zodiak Active and Magnolia. I have pursued a career as a scriptwriter for feature films, medical web series and TV fiction and have also directed several documentaries.
